Guesthouse Borg

We came across this lovely place by chance on the map one evening and liked it straight away. The rooms are cozy, and there are different bathroom options to book depending on what you prefer. The spacious kitchen has a top-class coffee machine, a must, haha, and there's room for the whole family and guests to eat. Dagmar's knitting is on display in the living room, and I wanted to buy it all. She's such a friendly, kind host and pays attention to the details. We'll be back soon. Breakfast was outstanding, and the kitchen was great. Our rooms were clean and a decent size, and the house felt cozy and welcoming, with a nice living room and a cute dining area. The host was very responsive, and check-in and check-out were easy. There are a few parking spots at the guesthouse, and restaurants in Grindavik are within walking distance. The rates are very reasonable for the quality. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend the place. We'd definitely come back if we return to Iceland.

We both got bitten by bed bugs, and the place didn't seem particularly clean in general. It had a cheap hostel feel, yet the stay was very expensive. We paid for breakfast, but it was quite disgusting for the price. Some food looked undercooked, so we left it unfinished. I wouldn't stay here again. There are much better places in the area.

Dagmar and Hjalti were so welcoming and happy to answer all our questions. We stayed with our two kids, and the family room was just right for us. They loved the games in the sitting room and all the breakfast choices. We also enjoyed the local pool and its nice facilities. This was our first night in Iceland, and Grindavik Guesthouse set a really high bar. We'd stay again!
