We stayed in a small, new hotel in a fishing town, with just five rooms, and ours felt more like a roomy apartment. It was clean and had a safe. The host was warm and accommodating, even giving our daughter an Icelandic birthday greeting when she turned 13 during our stay. The Blue Lagoon is only a few minutes away, and the airport is close too. We’d happily come back if we return to Reykjavik.

The proprietor was friendly, and there was plenty of parking. Breakfast was a small buffet. We stopped for one night on the way to the airport and Blue Lagoon; our room was large and roomy. The shower was a wet-room setup, so water got across the bathroom floor and we had to squeegee it often. Aside from that, no complaints.

Breakfast came with the stay, and our room was comfortable. This is a quaint, lovely spot in Grindavík, with kind owners who were happy to help. We also really enjoyed the fresh, delicious food at the restaurant. We’ll be back, thanks! :)

There are only five rooms here, so it never felt crowded. We had a clean, comfortable, spacious room in this new hotel on the first floor of the Bruin restaurant. An older husband and wife own the hotel and restaurant.

It’s a working fishing town, so this is a good place to stay if you like being around local life. The hotel and restaurant are run by a former fisherman. Ask him about his stories. I’d stay here again.
