Adventure Hotel Hellissandur

Adam made us feel welcome and gave us useful tips about the area. We also had a fantastic dinner at the hotel restaurant, with a view of the snowy glacier in the distance. It was our favorite meal of the trip. We stopped here overnight while driving around the Snæfellsnes peninsula in fall 2024, and I’m late getting around to writing this. The updated rooms were comfortable, the service was superb, and our stay at Adventure Hotel Hellisandur became a special memory. Thanks, Adam, for the care and time you’re putting into the hotel.

The staff made us feel at home throughout our stay, welcoming us warmly and helping whenever we needed anything. That hospitality was what stood out most and made us feel valued. Our room was comfortable and had the amenities we needed. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from each morning. We had a fantastic time here and would happily return. Thank you to the whole team.

Just to the right of the hotel there’s a semi-dark field where you can watch the northern lights, and the area felt very safe. Our room was a good size and the food was decent. Adam, the hotel manager, took great care of us and the stay was very comfortable. We’d definitely come back if we’re in the area.

The concierge went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, and the food was a real highlight. Breakfast had a good range of fresh, tasty options, but dinner at the onsite restaurant was on another level. It felt gourmet while still reasonably priced for Iceland. I’d recommend saving room for dinner, especially the lamb.
