The location works well, right in the center of town on the main street, and both the motel and bistro were clean. The room was comfortable, but extremely small, the smallest I’ve ever seen. Maybe it was because we had a private bath, I don’t know, but there’s no way to fit more than two people. We left our luggage in the car because there was nowhere to put it. No shelves or nightstand, no coffee maker or kettle, no TV, and just a small single sink. The walls are paper thin, so we heard every toilet flush and shower. I’d stay again, but with lower expectations. We had dinner at the Bistro. It cost 80.00 dollars for a small bowl of Lamb Soup, a serving of Fish Stew, and one beer. Dessert was a small portion of Apple cake for 15.00, maybe a 5" square. There’s a restaurant across the street and another in the Witchcraft museum; I might try one of those if I stop here again. The place did what we needed, a bed and a shower. It came to about 250.00 plus 80.00 for dinner.

We only stayed one night, and really enjoyed it. The balcony has a great view of the ocean, a nice spot to sit and think about the plans ahead or just have breakfast. The place is peaceful, cozy, very clean, and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast felt like eating at home. The staff were wonderful, friendly, and helpful, and made us feel welcome. It’s conveniently close to the main road and on the way if you’re traveling to Ísafjörður. We highly recommend starting a trip to the Westfjords of Iceland with a stay here.

The owner makes amazing homemade food, including authentic traditional dishes she grew up with. There’s a great view of the bay too. Highly recommend stopping in for lunch.

The Icelandic meat soup was delicious, and the sandwiches were great and generously sized. Worth a stop for lunch!
