The room and the staff won me over after a rough first impression. The building looked worn and past its best, but parking is right outside, and I was upgraded to a room with a harbor view. It was quiet, the bed was really comfortable, and there was a coffee machine and TV. The bathroom was okay. The internet was called high-speed, but I got no more than 45 \text{ Mb/s} download, which was much slower than I expected. I’d booked a double bed with breakfast because the twin rooms looked like they might be too small in the website photos. Breakfast was the standard sort, though they made far too much just for me. They offered bacon and eggs for the next morning, hot chocolate for my outing, and a picnic to take along when I left. For a remote hotel in Hólmavík, it turned out better than that first look suggested, and I thought the price was fair for what I got.
