Húsavík Green Hostel

The location is hard to beat, with everything only a few minutes' walk away, and the rooms were clean and nice. The owner was incredibly kind and took time to offer lots of useful ideas for planning my time in Husavik. I had a wonderful stay at the Husavik Green Hostel and hope to visit again soon!

This is a quiet hostel, so don’t expect the usual party atmosphere people often associate with hostels. We got back at 11:00 one night and other guests were already asleep, so remember to come in quietly and respectfully. The price was great, the whole place spotless, and we could walk to everything we wanted to do in town. We always found parking right outside. The owner welcomed us warmly and gave us a helpful introduction to the hostel and area.

The shared area is very spacious, and check-in and check-out were simple. The hostel is central and close to the Husavik port, and the hostess was friendly and talkative. Our room was clean, though the double bed wasn’t very big. The water smelled, probably because it comes from thermal water in the ground. If you need a bath towel, ask for one in advance.

The peaceful atmosphere made for a quiet, restful stay. The kitchen was spacious and thoughtfully set up, and never felt overcrowded, so cooking was pleasant and relaxed. The accommodation was a gem, impeccably kept and impressively clean, beyond what I expected. The young Italian lady working there was lovely, polite, and incredibly helpful. Her warm welcome made me feel at home. My stay at Húsavík Green Hostel was fantastic.
