Seljalandsfoss Horizons

I loved the cute, cozy cottage, and parking right beside it was handy. The host was responsive and respectful. It’s in a picturesque spot, with Drífandi waterfall in the backdrop across the Ring Road and the far ocean visible on the other side. Seljalandsfoss is almost next door, and the cottage sits between Hvolsvöllur and Skógafoss. It’s just off Route 1, but I didn’t hear road noise at all. In December, the north wind was much louder.

We loved our two-night stay in a beautiful Deluxe Villa at Seljalandsfoss Horizons. The kitchen had everything we needed, breakfast was excellent, and the whole place was clean and thoughtfully furnished. We even got to see the Northern Lights from the property. There were a few snags: the living room ceiling light kept changing brightness and was very dim, the living room was cold while the upstairs room was very warm, and the shower went cold in the evening. Still, it was a wonderful stay.

The room and service were very good, and the place was cozy. We saw amazing stars too. But the hot water ran out straight away, leaving everyone with freezing cold showers that night.

The beds were comfortable and the shower floor was warm. The location is lovely, with a waterfall on one side and the distant ocean on the other. It’s quiet and remote, but close enough to other cabins that it doesn’t feel desolate. We picked up some food and used the kitchen, which made for great memories.
