The photos don’t quite prepare you for how modern and comfortable this place is. I’ve stayed here three times now, after two stays at four-star places in Reykjavik, and this feels far more luxurious and livable. There are too many amenities to list, but the pictures give you an idea. It’s in a small village a couple of hours from Keflavik, yet you’re at most an hour from Iceland’s beautiful, varied scenery. I can’t describe everything you might see, but you really need to experience it, especially in summer. If it’s within your budget, stay here. I don’t think you’ll regret it.

The views from the house are beautiful, especially from the 350 degree room at the top. It’s well placed for a self-guided trip around the Golden Circle, and Selfoss is nearby for larger supermarkets. The house itself is clean, warm, and well equipped. The hot tub is more like a large hot bath, but it was still nice to relax in during the evening. A really nice place for a few days.
