The staff were so warm and attentive, and the service was better than we could have hoped for. We also ate dinner and breakfast twice at the restaurant, and everything was very good. The char was cooked nicely, and even the side salad was a pleasant surprise. We stayed for two nights in early June in a private-bathroom room. It was a little tight on space, but clean and comfortable. The setting is spectacular, with high mountains on both sides, and it worked well as a base for exploring the Akureyri area beyond the town itself. I'd recommend it if that's what you're looking to do.

The restaurant is really good. They don't allow tents, so I camped by the river just across the road. Then the owner of the blue house farm ran after me, and I was worried he was going to tell me to leave. Instead, he said I could pitch my tent anywhere on his property!! 💖

Breakfast was really good!!! The rooms feel a bit dated, though, and the carpet looks very old. I think changing it to laminate flooring would make a big difference.

The staff were fantastic, really helpful and accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and there's a sink and mirror in each one. Just a heads-up for Americans, the showers and toilets are shared. Breakfast comes with the room, and the restaurant is really good. Dinner costs extra, but there's a good choice and the prices seem reasonable.

Great coffee and an outstanding apple dessert. We stopped in for coffee and cake, and the staff were wonderful.
