The host was fabulous, and the rooms and private bathroom were super clean and comfortable. The pizza was delicious too. One thing I'd suggest: add window screens so we can let in fresh air without the bugs.

At 85 euros, this place cost half again as much as other stays I'd been to, yet the kitchen was barely equipped. There were just two pans and one comically large pot, with no seasonings, coffee, oil, or anything else. I stayed at 9 places between here and reykjavik, even run-down hostels, and every one supplied those basics. For this money, even in Iceland, I expected a better kitchen. The floor also announces your entrance from a mile away. It's an okay place, with a roof over your head, bathrooms, and a "kitchen".

A basic room, with camping available too. There's instant coffee and tea in the room, and it's close to the grocery store. The shower area is very cramped and water gets all over the floor, though thankfully there's a squeegee. Hand soap is provided, but bring your own body wash and shampoo.

The room was clean and comfortable, and check-in and checkout were contactless. Just arrive, go to your room, and use the code they text you. The place is right by the myvatn lake and crater hike. Breakfast isn't included, but there's a pizza place onsite.
