The setup was easy to use: self check-in came with clear instructions and photos, the elevator was handy, and checkout was simple. Staff also replied to emails. The one-bedroom apartment had a separate bedroom, which gave us some privacy with adult kids, and the blackout curtains kept out the midnight sun. It’s near restaurants and only a three-minute walk from bus stop 13, though it sits up a hill that can be tiring with young kids and luggage. There were quite a few things that made the stay harder. I’d asked for extra pillows, but there was only one flimsy one per person. Zia said the sofa bed would be made up for my kids and me since we’d arrive late, but it wasn’t. We had only one towel per person, no eating utensils as promised in the emails, and a single bathroom, which was tricky with adult kids. The shower splashed water everywhere, there was nothing to mop it up with, and the one floor towel got wet on the first day. The floors felt sandy, as if they hadn’t been swept or mopped. The bathroom had an overwhelming rotten-egg smell from the sulfur, which I know is normal in Iceland. The apartment was stuffy and very warm, with no AC or ceiling fans. We arrived on July 14, 2025, during one of the most unusually hot days in decades. Opening the doors and windows helped, but the window was too high to open easily. The shower also had nowhere to put toiletries like face wash. Across the street, neighbors were loud until after midnight.

We asked for a baby bed and arrived to find so much more: a baby towel, little toy on the bed, bath tub, highchair, plate, bowl, cutlery, and whole milk in the fridge. The reception replied quickly and the service was excellent. The place was spacious, comfortable, and very central, with easy access into and out of the city by car. We’d highly recommend it and hope to come back.

We even saw the northern lights from the hotel balcony. The apartment was very spacious, with free street parking outside. There’s a supermarket down the road, and the main tourist sights are an easy walk away. Great location.

The access codes worked perfectly, and on request we got two travel cots and a high chair for the kids. Fitting both cots into one bedroom was a little tight, but it worked for us. The modern two-bedroom apartment had a balcony and was lovely. Since we stayed more than a week, a broom or vacuum would have helped with cleaning. Parking is free, though a space wasn’t always easy to find.
