Blue Luxury Apartments

This “luxury apartment” felt more like a worn, old studio with a different layout from the one advertised. It was a disappointing stay and nowhere near as luxurious as expected. The entrance lacked plants, good lighting, and a comfortable seating area for four. The rug was dirty, with edges sticking up enough to trip on. The dining table was clean but bare, and one chair had a big tear. The kitchen hadn’t been cleaned properly: we had to unpack the dishwasher, the cupboards held dirty pans and cutlery, and the toaster was disgusting. The walls and closets were battered and visibly damaged. The fridge looked clean, but its freezer was completely iced over and unusable. There was no coffee, which was a letdown for the price and compared with other apartments we’ve stayed in Iceland. Every window was dirty, like a fogged-up windshield, so it was hard to see outside. There were plenty of clean towels, but the bathroom shower area was poor: a broken faucet handle, loose tiles, heavy mold in the seams, and uneven flooring that could cause an injury. The floor heating panels couldn’t be adjusted, and the heating didn’t work in several rooms, including the bathroom. The bed linens seemed clean, though two pillows were stained. Dust clusters were visible around the not very clean apartment floor, and the sockets were dusty. You couldn’t use the bedside lights while charging a phone. The kitchen blind was missing, with just the mounting brackets left.
