Exeter Hotel

Having a bar, restaurant, and bakery all in the building was really handy, and the location worked perfectly for us, close to the city center and with good bus connections to the airport. The staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help every day. Our room was spotless, tidy, and beautifully designed, and we loved relaxing together in the cozy lobby with its Christmas decorations. We had a wonderful stay at Exeter Hotel and would definitely recommend it.

Czarek at the front desk made our stay at Exeter Hotel in Reykjavík especially memorable. He was warm and attentive from the start, and whenever we asked a question or wanted a recommendation, he took the time to help with patience and kindness. We felt welcomed and valued. On our last day, he surprised us with two of Reykjavík’s special donuts, made just once a year. It was a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot. The hotel is lucky to have him, and we’ll gladly recommend it to friends and family. Thanks for such a memorable stay.

The room was on the small side but clean, with a lovely view of the water and Mount Esja. It was also surprisingly quiet despite the busy street, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Breakfast is worth including, with fresh, varied food that was especially useful for an early start. The front desk team were friendly and helpful, and the sauna felt amazing after a long day walking. The Exeter is well placed, across from a tour bus pickup and a short walk from downtown Reykjavik. We highly recommend it.

Our Harborside Deluxe room was cozy and just right for our honeymoon. Over New Year, the staff helped make our once-in-a-lifetime trip feel even more magical. The hotel sits by the harbor, with local museums nearby, and works well as a base for exploring Reykjavik on foot or catching tour buses out to countryside attractions. Breakfast is worth adding. The food was fresh and changed daily, with regular staples like skyr, cereal, and fresh bread.
