Grímur Hotel

Breakfast was the best I had in Iceland, with lots of choices and great products. The hotel itself is nice and quiet, with easy parking. There’s also a good pizza restaurant and a supermarket in the same building. It’s about a five-minute drive to the city center.

I’d never stayed at a hotel without a reception before, and this was better than I expected. Getting the entry code, parking, and access sorted was seamless. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t need to contact staff at all. Breakfast was simple: coffee, tea, bread, cheese, butter, cucumber, and capsicum. The hotel is quite close to the domestic airport at Reyjkavik.

The bathrooms were really clean, and breakfast was good. The location was okay, though we still needed a taxi for most attractions. There are quite a few stairs, and the staff could have been friendlier.

There’s no TV in the room, and the bed was hard with flat pillows, but the curtains kept the room dark. It was quiet and clean, with a fresh bathroom and friendly staff. Breakfast was okay, and the free parking, nearby bus stop and food shop in the same building were handy. There’s a shared fridge and a pizza restaurant in the building too. Very good value for the money.
