We waited about 1.5 to 2 hours for two Domino’s pizzas on our first night, after a long day. Since we’re from the UK and can’t make international calls, we expected the front desk to let us know by calling our room when the delivery arrived. When we eventually went downstairs, the pizzas had apparently been sitting behind reception the whole time. Our room number and names were clearly on the order and matched the booking, but nobody had told us. The staff member just said, “Here it is, it is probably cold now.” I asked if we could reheat the food in a microwave, especially since there’s a restaurant area for guests, but the request was immediately refused. Back in our room, we found the phone had been unplugged. Staff said they had tried to call, but the phone couldn’t have worked. Nobody came up to tell us the food was there. Later, we saw a Deliveroo driver in the corridor outside our room, which added to the confusion. The same staff member had said deliveries couldn’t be brought to guest rooms, but what we saw seemed to contradict that. The whole thing was frustrating and disappointing after a tiring travel day. Better communication and care from the front desk would have made a big difference.

We watched the Northern Lights from our room after paying a little extra for a massive room with windows facing the runway. The staff were friendly and helped us book a coach to Keflavik airport. We also walked through some woods to Perlan, which I’d highly recommend, and went to the Golden Beach to soak in the hot water while watching a perfect sunset. The breakfast and dinner buffets were amazing. The hotel and restaurant staff were wonderful, and the place itself was stunningly beautiful.

The TV in our King Suite didn’t work at all during the stay. Since it was our last night before flying out, we’d hoped to relax in the room, swim, and watch TV, but that plan didn’t work out. The room itself was very nice. We’d been excited to stay at Reykjavik Natura and expected to unwind, but the pool and spa were the main reason we booked. On arrival around 4 PM, we were told children could only use the spa between 11 AM and 2 PM, which was after morning checkout and before afternoon check-in. They made an exception for my 8-year-old, but said he had to be very quiet and we’d be kicked out immediately if anyone complained. It was really disappointing, and I wouldn’t be inclined to stay here again. There are quite a few other nice places to stay in Reykjavik.

We had a big room with a lovely bed, a clean bathroom with enough space, and all the facilities we needed. It’s a comfortable hotel within a short walk of the city centre. The breakfast buffet was good. If you’re short on time, though, avoid the waffle irons and espresso machine. The filter coffee at the other end is tasty and has no queue. If you’re taking organised day trips, the hotel’s location means most tour companies pick up here first. That way, you’ll always be seated with your travel companion!

The buffet food was great and the staff were really nice. This is a good budget hotel, though I’d call it three stars. Rooms are very small, but fine if you won’t spend much time in them. The location is convenient, under a 15-minute walk to BSI Bus Stop and about 30-45 minutes to downtown.
