Hotel Reykjavík Grand

The city center is about 2.5 km away, roughly a 20-minute walk. Olga at the front desk was excellent, pointing me toward nearby places to eat and see. She knows the area and was very helpful. The rooms were clean and nice, and the facilities for eating and having a drink were great.

The team made the stay easy and enjoyable, and the rooms were comfortable, lovely, and well kept. Christian helped me find a room that matched exactly what I wanted, then even arranged ketchup for my sandwich. A small thing, but very thoughtful. I also missed my pickup for the Blue Lagoon, which was stressful, and Olga sorted it out quickly with a smile. Her care and professionalism made a real difference. I’d recommend The Grand Hotel for the good rooms and staff who clearly care about guests, especially Olga and Christian.

I left my Bluetooth headphones behind when checking out, but after I emailed the hotel they found them and posted them back to me, at my expense. We’d also had a mix-up at check-in: our booking was for a twin, but we were first given a double. The staff searched and got us a twin room. We had a great stay and I’d recommend it.

For my first trip to Iceland, I was glad to find such a welcoming hotel. The reception team were especially friendly and helpful. My room was roomy and comfortable, with plenty of space and a big, cozy bathroom. I’d consider staying here again on another visit.
