Örk Hotel

The area around the hotel was a real plus, with Reykjadalur, The Geothermal Park, cafes, restaurants, a grocery store, and a gas station nearby. We ate at The Greenhouse, which was easy and good. Our basement-floor junior suite was especially spacious and nicely decorated, likely larger than a standard double, and it had a little patio with two chairs and a table. Check-in was quick and pleasant, breakfast was very good, and guests can use the pool behind the hotel for free. Parking is free too. This was an excellent hotel.

The hot tubs are included and are a lovely feature. Breakfast was a big disappointment, though. When their Malfuctioned coffee machine stopped working, there was another machine at the bar right by the buffet, but they still asked guests to pay for coffee instead of offering it as a free replacement. I found that unacceptable.

The breakfast spread had more options than I could mention, and the atmosphere felt relaxing and refreshing. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and every staff member we dealt with was welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed every minute of the stay.

My plane had to divert to Iceland because of an emergency, and the passengers were sent to this hotel. I was surprised by how clean, modern, and nice it was. The rooms were spacious and spotless, and the staff were super friendly. To me, the hotel seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, but the views around it were beautiful.
