Lækjarhus Farm Holidays

The studio was roomy for a studio and worked perfectly for two adults and two kids at a fair price. We stayed two nights, which was a relief after the long drive from seyðisfjorður, and had a lovely day walking around the farm and nearby area. The wifi was great, though there was no TV. Cooking supplies were sufficient, but oddly there were three knives and seven forks. The cabinets could use a better clean, but otherwise the cleaning was great. The cleaning lady (?) we asked to take out our trash was very nice.

Just four rooms share this cabin, which is an extension of a real farm. The rooms are nice, the shared bathrooms super clean, and there’s a good shared kitchen. A convenient stop about 20 km after Jokulsarlon if you’re driving the Ring Road anticlockwise.

The views were even better than the incredible hospitality. We stayed three nights at this gorgeous hostel/air bnb. At check-in, someone came over and showed us to our room. A kind lady came to clean in the mornings and even did a load of laundry for us. It’s a must-stay, especially since Diamond Beach is only a short drive away.

Selma was lovely and showed us around. The guest house sits right next to the family farm, with a well-equipped kitchen that had everything needed for cooking and a clean shared bathroom. Great value for money. I’ll definitely come again!
