Milk factory

Getting food downtown takes a 20-minute walk, which was the one drawback for us. Otherwise, the quiet, comfortable atmosphere was lovely, as were the two-story family rooms and breakfast. I also had some of the best coffee I've tried in Iceland, so I helped myself to plenty of free cups, while the kids went through lots of hot chocolate.

The coffee was good, but the breakfast was small, and with so many people, items like carrot cake and flat plates had run out within 30 minutes. We ended up eating from deep plates. It's not the end of the world, but after paying over 150 euro for a hotel, I'd expect breakfast to last more than 20 minutes. Our double room was very ordinary, with a big window looking out on containers and other unattractive things. The shower water pressure was low, there was only one pillow and it might feel too thin if, like me, you prefer a thicker one. The fridge also had food left by previous guests.

It's a very basic hotel, close to town in Höfn, but there's nothing particularly milky about it. The whole place centers on the dining room, which is only used for breakfast. Coffee and hot water are available there for guests to help themselves. In the room, there aren't any glasses, tissues, or other amenities.

The Milk Factory in Höfn was clean, had a lovely atmosphere and view, and the staff were friendly. We really enjoyed the breakfast too. We'd stay again.
