A cozy little guesthouse, with a nice kitchen and Netflix in the living room. Bring your own food and shampoo, since the only place to buy anything in town is the gas station, and it’s open just 11-19. The sunset outside town was incredible.

Simple and clean, with a sitting room and shared kitchen, this guesthouse had what I needed for one night. Booking and check-in were friendly. Food options in town are very limited: there’s a cafe that closes promptly at 5, and a hotel that doesn’t serve food all the time. The little gas store closes for the season after Aug 1st, so bring food with you.

I felt more at home here than at any other guesthouse, and I’d happily return anytime. The location worked really well for my travels in the Westfjords, and the owner was very kind and willing to do anything for guests. If you use a wheelchair, I recommend apartment number 1. The owner understands accessibility, and during my travels in the Westfjords this was the most accessible place I found that didn’t cost too much.

We rolled in late after a full day biking through wind and rain, soaked through and covered in mud. The owner didn’t have a room available, but the private apartment was vacant, so she quickly got it ready for us and told us to settle in and take our time in the morning. She also let us dry our bikes and gear in the drying house. She was unbelievably kind, friendly, and accommodating.

We arrived at the beginning of October, when the town was nearly empty and there wasn’t much to do. The house is old, but the owner said the heating system had been renewed. The kitchen had everything we could wish for, and there was a big table and a big TV to watch something on. The owner was very nice.
