The owners are really kind and friendly. We didn’t have dinner there, but breakfast was very good, with plenty of pastries as well as cheese and ham. It’s not quite an international breakfast, but it was fine. The hotel is comfortable enough and clean for a family-run two-star place. It gave me the impression it may have seen better days, perhaps back in the 1960s, during Abetone’s skiing heyday. I can imagine it might have been considered a three- or four-star hotel then.

The food is good, and the staff are very hospitable. It’s a nice place to stay. You can rent skis about a 30m walk away, and the nearest lift is 150m away and takes you to Abetone. Beginners should head to Abetone to learn, since the blue runs on the mountain top aren’t for learning.

The rooms were incredibly small, but we only stayed one night and the price was very reasonable. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, though they let us bring in some precooked pizzas and heat them in their oven.

I’ve stayed here every year. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms clean, and there’s good Italian-style food every night. The ski resort is about a mile away.

We stayed just one night, and the room rate seemed a little high for how the rooms looked. The staff were very kind and helpful, though, and breakfast was really good. I especially liked the big choice of desserts, all of them very good.
