The woman who runs the place was really nice, and the room has its own bathroom. To reach it, though, you have to walk through her living room, since it’s inside her home. What spoiled the stay for me was the sagging mattresses on both beds. I slept badly. There are also lots of cats, which could bother some people.

My sister is allergic, and she had an asthma attack during the night. We spent the night in the emergency room, where she was given cortisone and an IV, then left the property in the morning. We politely explained why we were leaving, but the owner was rude, called us “a nuisance...” and told us to “get out of my house” because she didn’t want to hear our complaints or negative comments about the defects and poor service. The room had mold behind the beds and on the walls, which were covered in very dated wallpaper. There was no air conditioning, only an old fan that seemed to blow mold spores around. From the moment I entered, there was a pungent smell of old age and cat urine. It was a nightmare. Allergy sufferers should beware; I strongly advise against this property.

We arrived at the stated time, rang the bell, and got no answer. I called, waited half an hour, called again, and still nothing. An hour later the lady finally picked up, though she’d seen the calls and hadn’t called back, so we headed to the B&B. At the door she asked whether we’d rung earlier. We said yes and told her to check the calls, but she brushed it off, saying we must have made a mistake. We might have challenged that, but decided to give it a try. Then she asked if we had a dog. We said yes, as we’d already told her, and explained it was a 2.5kg Chihuahua. She said he couldn’t come in and we should leave him outside. Goodbye.

The hostess’s engaging personality made the stay very satisfying and more than made up for the minor drawbacks. The approach is a little complicated, though it’s easy to find your way once you’re there, and the car can be parked in the enclosed area in front of the house. It feels like staying in a real city home with an authentic atmosphere. The place is a bit past its prime, but the hostess’s warmth really comes through. All the basic services are provided, and the price is very attractive for what you get. I highly recommend it.
