La Pagliera

Breakfast alone was incredible, both the quality and the amount of food were among the best I’ve had. Francesco served so much delicious food that you definitely won’t leave hungry. The rest of our stay was just as good. Our spacious, quiet, private room was comfortable, with views of the Temples even from the shower. The restored farmhouse is beautiful and tastefully done, and the hosts made us feel the warmth of Sicily. There’s a handy kitchenette by the bedrooms with water and other drinks, and the upstairs terrace is a lovely spot to relax in the late afternoon or evening. I only wish we could have stayed much longer. I can’t recommend La Pagliera enough.

Getting to Agrigento's sights and activities was easy from here, even though the house is outside the city. The farmhouse has been beautifully renovated as a real passion project by the host couple, and you can see that in the thoughtfully decorated shared and private spaces. The hosts were very welcoming, and breakfast was handmade with love, fantastic, and more than generous. 100% recommended!

The whole visit had such a warm, genuine feel, and the place seemed to have a story behind it. Francesco welcomed us with a smile and made us feel at home right away. Our room was beautiful and spotless, and the food kept coming, all of it incredible. He was informative and helpful, and nothing felt like too much trouble. I don’t usually write reviews, but this stay really stood out. My fiancée and I highly recommend it.

What stayed with me most was Ciccio and Susi. They were warm, welcoming hosts who really cared about our visit, and Ciccio shared details about local sites, beaches, and the area's history. It felt like staying with family we hadn't seen in years. La Pagliera itself is a beautifully renovated stable and farmhouse, with thoughtful touches throughout, from the custom architectural details to the shower window looking out at the Temple of Concordia. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious, and very Sicilian, with local products.
