Hotel Mare

The room was tiny, with a really small shower and a very hard bed, though that's just my opinion. We did have a super nice view of the sea and pool, and the rooms were clean. The restaurant was really good and the service there was great. The first woman who served us in the lobby spoke Italian, English, and French, and was really nice. She welcomed us warmly and gave us amazing service.

The manager came to speak to us two days later, apologized, and offered nothing. We had arrived on June 10 for a week through Transat, and after checking in we found the hotel dated, as expected, but seemingly clean. Then my husband pulled back the sheets and found what looked like a fresh stain on both the top and bottom sheet in the same spot. He was extremely annoyed and reported it at reception. The woman came upstairs and insisted it was soap and that the sheets were clean. I showed her the mark on the bottom sheet and asked how a soap stain could be in exactly the same place. Not a nice start to our vacation in Italy. Thanks, Hotel Mare.

We stayed at HM a few years ago on a Transat holiday. The room was clean and had a view, and the food was better than you'd expect at a three-star hotel. The staff were friendly and great. It made a very nice base for exploring the Amafil coast, with pompei nearby too. You can see much more if you have a car.

The city beach begins right beside the hotel and stretches for about half a kilometer. The tourist shopping area is an easy walk below the castle. We stayed 15 nights in an Air Transat package and couldn't have been happier. The staff were wonderful, the food excellent, and the rooms very clean, though the beds were a little hard. The hotel arranged a rental car and a boat cruise. After long days of walking and shopping, the pool was heavenly.
