The man who welcomed us was wonderful, very helpful and full of good suggestions. The woman handling our departure was deeply unpleasant, and left us with a terrible final impression. The setting is beautiful and well located, but the standard rooms could use updating, especially the bathrooms. After late September, beach and restaurant services are unlikely to be available, even though the price stays the same.

Our Baba Dream room at Baba Residences had an outdoor tub, and I loved it. The room’s modern, classy design and gorgeous view made the stay feel special. Carletto was kind and waited for us. Getting there took longer because of a few mishaps and roadworks that caused heavy traffic near Genoa, not by the residences.

We spent one night in a tent and enjoyed the sea views. There’s a nice beach just across the road, and the restaurant makes tasty pizza that’s inexpensive to take away. Getting around the campsite means dealing with narrow, steep roads, and the busy road and railway can make it noisy. The main shower block wasn’t great: the toilets have high steps, and showers take tokens costing 50 cents for three minutes. There was a clean, newer toilet in the tent area that was much better. The receptionist speaks English very well.

We’ve been coming to Baba for five years straight, and the views still amaze us. The apartments are maintained well and have everything we need. There’s a dog-friendly beach just a short walk away, with Alassio, Albenga, and smaller towns about 5-10 minutes away by car. Genova, Nice, and other bigger cities are reachable in around an hour. Reception staff respond quickly, and the complex has on-site parking, a playground, dog park, tennis court, and more. The views are so mesmerizing that staying in can be just as tempting.

On our round-the-world trip, we found the value for the quality here hard to beat. I can’t praise the campsite enough, 14/10! The staff are great, the restaurant is well priced, and the facilities are good. It’s a 10-minute walk into town and only 2 minutes to the beach. Best campsite in Italy, as far as I’m concerned.
