The pasta with black truffles was outstanding, with a generous helping of truffles and just the right amount of pasta. I ordered my veal steak medium, but it came a little too rare for my taste. The restaurant had a good atmosphere, a convenient location, and a nice wine menu. We were very pleased with our first meal in Alba.

It's a pleasant, elegant restaurant, but they don't grate the truffles at your table like other restaurants in the region do. They arrive already grated on top of the dish. The white truffle on my risotto was dark and soft instead of pale and firm, and its aroma wasn't as intense as it should have been. The price was, though. I'd recommend asking for the truffle to be grated at the table.

The truffle pasta was every bit as indulgent as it looked, and really memorable. We came on a quiet afternoon, with hardly anyone there and what seemed like closing time approaching, yet the welcome and service were still warm.
