I Tigli di Altavilla

We'd never been to the Langhe before, and Mrs. Letizia gave us the kind of welcome we always hope for on vacation. She was warm, hospitable, and full of useful suggestions. What we thought was a room turned out to be a comfortable little apartment with everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent, too. It's outside central Alba, but close enough, and the quieter spot made for a relaxing stay. Highly recommended.

The owner was so kind, and the house was beautifully kept. Add the lovely location and it made for a wonderful stay.

Set among vineyards a few minutes outside Alba, this B&B is best reached by car. Our apartment was clean and spacious, with a separate bathroom and a kitchen-dining area in the green room. Letitia was attentive and easygoing, and breakfast came with plenty of fresh fruit. A great pick for a short visit to Piedmont's Langhe region.

The garden was lovely, the view was beautiful, breakfast was good, and the staff were very friendly. The location worked well for visiting Asti, and the restaurant was excellent. The bathroom was small but clean, with a bidet and a window. The room itself was less comfortable. The bed had an extremely uncomfortable old hump-shaped mattress, and the bulky 1930s furniture felt meant for a much larger space. The refrigerator was big and noisy, so we unplugged it overnight. The restaurant's outdoor terrace was below the window, but it was closed during our two-night stay. I can't say whether it would bring noise or smells when open in the evenings.
