Hotel Punta Imperatore

The pool area was clean and tidy, though paying extra for towels during our stay felt unreasonable. The hotel is handy for the beach and the bus stop if you want to explore the island, but the bar, rooms and restaurant all look very dated. Breakfast was fine, apart from the coffee machines, which were probably the worst I've used. The espresso machine tucked in the corner was the one exception. Staff did their best to keep guests happy, but that didn't make up for the tired feel of the place. In the evenings, drinks came in plastic glasses. There were only two wine glasses, and if someone else had them, you got a dirty plastic one. Sadly, I probably wouldn't stay again.

The room was traditional, clean, and had a fantastic view across to the beach. It was good value, and our holiday included some really pleasant excursions. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were so pleasant, especially Elena. In fact, the hotel staff were the most helpful and welcoming people we met during the whole trip. We had a perfect week.

We had a fantastic stay, with beautifully kept grounds, an outstanding breakfast included, and an incredible natural hot spring pool. The location made it easy to get around on foot: Poseidon Spa is about five minutes away, and lovely beaches, restaurants, and pretty much everything else we wanted were within a ten-minute walk.

The homemade cakes at breakfast were a treat, especially the one called 'Grandmother's pie'. Their lunch snacks were tasty and affordable, and the Parmigiana Melanzane was the best I've had. Maybe grandma was cooking again. The staff were kind and helpful, and the place had the feel of a family-run business. It's just a minute's walk from a great beach and nice restaurants, and the amenities were good. They even put out two pillows, one firm and one softer, so you could pick what suited you. We'll definitely come back!
