Palazzo D'Argento

Right in the heart of Alba, with a unique design in every room and a good price.

The location is excellent, and Mrs. Valentina and her husband are very kind people. The hotel is quite unique too. I stayed at Palazzo d'Argento Hotel with my husband on the nights of September 4th and 5th. The owners were helpful, though the organization felt a little lacking. The decor is beautiful and unusual, and the large terrace overlooking our room had lots of lovely objects. But the plants were poorly maintained, with geraniums covered in flowers and dry leaves, and other plants in the same state. A real shame for such a lovely spot. Our room also had some practical problems: no bedside shelves, no bedside lamps, and no lights we could switch off from bed. The only light was a big, beautiful chandelier, which meant getting up to turn it off. The TV remote was missing its battery cover, and we had to get closer to the screen to change channels or switch it off, probably because the batteries were flat. The evening before dinner, I was about to tell the lady we'd be leaving early the next morning and would make arrangements, but she said we'd see each other again. When we got back around 9:00 PM, nobody was there. The same thing happened when we woke up, so I called her on her cell phone to say we were ready to leave and settle the bill.

We were pleasantly surprised by this B&B. The staff welcomed us warmly and were helpful. It was comfortable and in an excellent location, though there was no breakfast. If we get the chance, we'll come back and would recommend it to anyone. 4.5/5

A lovely, very clean room, decorated with care down to the smallest detail. We were welcomed warmly, and the location is superb. There's no breakfast, but a small café right next door. 👍👍
