Albergo La Principessa

All good.

We had a great vacation and left very happy. The hotel is about 20 minutes from the sea, and the owner, Mr. Ce C'è, is kind, helpful, and always up for a chat. Patrizia was lovely too. Our room was roomy and had an en-suite bathroom, hairdryer, shower gel, mini-bar, glasses, napkins, air conditioning, and TV. The whole place felt welcoming, clean, and neat, and breakfast was included. Thanks, and see you soon!

The quiet setting worked well for evenings, with hardly any traffic on the road. There's outdoor parking right by the entrance, and the family-run hotel has large, simple rooms with private bathrooms, TVs, fridges, and air conditioning. Ours had no balcony, which was a problem since our beach towels stayed damp and needed somewhere to dry. Alcamo is well placed for Castellammare del Golfo, the Zingaro Nature Reserve, and Mount Bonifato, and the price was reasonable. Breakfast, though, was very sparse: two pastries, coffee, tea in two flavors, and packaged items. Juice was available if I asked, but there were no sandwiches or cold cuts. I had asked when booking whether gluten-free food could be provided, then reminded them when we arrived and was told it would be fine. The next morning, I got no breakfast at all.

If you're passing through Alcamo, I'd recommend this place. It has a safe, something I've found missing even in some 3-star hotels, and they leave you a key to the gate if you come back late. The Wi-Fi is affordable, the service is friendly, and the hotel is very clean and quiet at night. For a one-star hotel, it beats quite a few 3-star ones.
