That sunset was spectacular. The historic center is lovely, with its walls and turrets around houses reached by quaint little lanes and alleys. The main streets have shops, boutiques, bars, and restaurants, so there’s plenty of browsing and places to eat.

Elegant, lively, and clean, Alghero is a beautiful city, especially along the waterfront and in the historic center. I think it’s the prettiest city in Sardinia ❤️

Alghero’s medieval lanes and noble palaces are fascinating, and the civic square is lively, with traces of its old Catalan influence. The city is interesting for its historical sites and cleanliness too, and people welcome you warmly. It once had fishermen, shepherds, and artisans living there. Now there are shops, businesses, and restaurants.
