I've stayed at Horizan b&b more than once since falling in love with Sardinia. It's really good value, and you can walk into Alghero town in about five minutes. The rooms are tidy and very clean, and there's a coffee machine in the comunale area that's kept clean and well stocked. Plenty of cafes for breakfast are within a 1-10 minute walk. The owners are attentive and helpful, and the cleaner is lovely and friendly. They also run a car rental just five minutes away, which makes it easy to get wheels if you want to explore more of Sardinia. They recommended Castelsardo, and it was breathtakingly beautiful. For the location, cleanliness, and ease, it's five stars from me.

Pierpaulo and his wife Francesca run the place and also offer car and bike hire, handy if you need wheels to see the island. There's a good café downstairs for a coffee and pastries to start the day. It's affordable and great value, with a lovely view over Alghero harbour from the balcony and close to everything. We always stay here.

The room was clean, which was a plus, but it was in poor condition and extremely noisy. Guests should be told about the bar downstairs, or earplugs should be provided. The doors didn't work, the AC leaked water, and the TV kept switching itself on and off.

It's very central and conveniently close to a parking lot, which matters since finding parking in Alghero is difficult. But the room was small and very expensive for what it offered. Breakfast wasn't included apart from coffee pods or herbal tea, and the upkeep was poor: the towel rail was loose, the toilet seat badly worn, and there were no trouser hangers in the closet. Poor value for money.
