Villa della Mimosa

After a chaotic evening and morning finding our way around Palermo, we headed inland to Alia. The peace at Agriturismo Villa della Mimosa was just what we needed, and the location was easy to reach. Lina and Calogero welcomed us warmly, talked with us about the area and their varied, interesting life experiences, and were wonderful hosts. Our rooms were really suites, with comfortable furnishings, an ante-room, a double bedroom, and a bathroom. Best of all was stepping onto the terrace to look over the rolling hills and valleys, beautiful in May. The grounds are well tended, and Calogero and Lina grow most of their own produce, with olive groves and a small vineyard too. It makes a lovely quiet base for day trips around Sicily. Thanks so much, Calogero and Lina. We'll keep in touch and hope to come back as soon as we can.

The bedroom terrace had an exquisite view. The place felt lovely, cosy, and very welcoming.

Back for our second off-season stay as a team of two, and they cooked just for us again! The food was delicious and generous, and everything was spotlessly clean. It has a real family feel. Hope we get to return.

We've been here several times, and the menu changes from one visit to the next. The dishes make it clear that the ingredients are local and seasonal, and the pizzas are really good too, with excellent dough and tasty toppings. The cuisine is excellent overall. Staff are professional, friendly, and helpful, and the owners are delightful to chat with. The place is spectacular, traditional, and very carefully maintained. Rooms are spacious, new, very clean, and equipped with every comfort. The countryside and nearby sunflower fields make for a beautiful view. One drawback is the location. If you don't know the area, it's hard to spot and decide to stop in, especially with so little advertising along the main road. Still, I recommend it for communions, baptisms, confirmations, graduation parties, dinners, or just pizza.
