The hosts’ passion for the hotel and the area really came through, and it made our stay so enjoyable. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, both sweet and savory, along with coffee and tea. Our room felt a little dated, but it was charming and good value for the price. We stayed at Hotel Coldai for two nights during a week in the Dolomites. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They let us leave the car there the night before check-in while we went on an overnight hike, and even arranged laundry for us. It’s well placed for visits to Mont Civetta and Lago Di Alleghe. We’d recommend it to anyone. Thank you!

Alleghe was a great base for our week, with many of the places we wanted to visit about equally far away. The town and hotel were peaceful and quaint, and the area was incredibly beautiful. It’s much quieter than Cortina or the Bolanzo side, but still close to plenty of great sites. The owner was really friendly and helpful, with great suggestions for where to go. I’d absolutely recommend staying here. It’s a hidden gem, and breakfast was good too.

The owners, a father and son who were both part of Italy’s Olympics ice hockey team, were the friendliest and most accommodating hosts I’ve met. Ask them for hiking ideas around the area, they have great recommendations. We had an incredible stay at this small hotel in the heart of the Dolomites, in beautiful little Alleghe. I know Via Coldai has some 3-4 star reviews, but our experience was spectacular. I’m so glad we found this place!

The hosts were welcoming and helpful, and know the local area well, so they had plenty of ideas for what to see and do. The hotel is in an ideal spot for the mountain cable cars, and it’s great value for an affordable Dolomites trip. We had a lovely time in Alleghe at this family-run place. It felt homely, the rooms were comfortable with great views, and breakfast was plentiful. Highly recommended!

It’s a real family business, so the atmosphere feels warm and homely. The owner was very kind and brought my child lots of toys. The breakfast setup suited the pandemic, with distancing and staff serving guests. The location is good too, and the lake is an easy walk away.
