Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with fruit, cold cuts, cheeses, and lots of pastries and cakes. We thought the stay was great value and would happily come back. The room was spacious and clean, with a view of the Duomo. We were there on a Saturday night, when Altamura was buzzing and it seemed like the whole town was out for dinner and drinks. This is a lovely historic B&B right in the center, run by a couple whose family business seems to have been going for many years. Nunzio was a great host and very helpful. The place has loads of character and offered more than we expected from a B&B in Italy. Check-in was quick, the reception was easy to find, and there’s a lift for heavy bags. Grazie per tutti!

The family who own the place were genuinely lovely and friendly, and breakfast is included. The rooms are big, clean, and modern, while still keeping a historic feel. The interior has more modern touches than some online photos might suggest, but there’s care for the building’s history. It seems to have been renovated, and the prices still felt low: 65 euro per night, more like a budget hotel than a beautiful B&B. The location is excellent, right by the duomo. The main street can get noisy, so light sleepers should ask for a room on the side street or a higher floor. The windows don’t insulate much, but everything else made up for that. Just book, you won’t regret it.

We were there in May 2015, and I wish my wife and I had stayed longer. It’s a wonderful family-run place with great hosts, and restaurants are close by. The owner’s son greeted us at the piano with “I Giorni.” Be sure to try the local Pane di Altamura.
