Hotel One Via Roma, 82

The room had mold, a broken bathroom faucet with water running onto the floor and into the room, and damaged electrical outlets. The sheets were clean, at least. Hotel One is a roomy, classic 1980s building, but the guest rooms are small and worn down. I was passing through during Comix in Lucca, when nearby hotels were full and very expensive, so this was a necessary stop. The place has potential, but it needs maintenance. For the rooms, I wouldn't give it more than one star.

I couldn't wait to leave and checked out the next morning. The room was filthy, with cables coming out of the wall, long cracks across the walls and ceiling, and a broken window that wouldn't shut. The Wi-Fi, heating, and fridge all failed. The bathroom was beyond words, and even though I'm not fussy, I barely felt comfortable in the bed that night. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in.

The receptionist and the woman at the front desk were so kind and helpful, and she did her best to meet all our requests. A few things look dated, but they work and didn't bother us. The place is clean, comfortable, discreet, and fairly priced, with good value for a few nights of sightseeing or a stop on the way. Just don't expect a five-star hotel; it delivers what it promises. I'd give it 10 out of 10 for what it is. If you want to spend more, choose another hotel.

We stayed for two days and they didn't even make the beds. The elevator was out, the bathroom was broken and cramped, and the shampoo in my room had already been opened and used up. The listing on Booking.com calls it a three-star hotel, but I found the arrival disorganized, and the location shown in the ad didn't match where it actually is. There wasn't even a sign saying One. I strongly advise against staying here.
