Villa Borgo San Michele

My extended family spent a week at this villa, with more than 10 children and adults relying on the services, and after spending so much money we were disappointed. The accommodation itself was just okay and there was no service. The Wi-Fi and laundry machines had problems, and we were given only one key. There were very few toiletries and towels, and we had to beg for more. Two of the showers were unusable. Read the other reviews and you'll see the same issues. I'd look for somewhere better for a vacation.

There was no service after we were dropped off at the villa on day one: no cleaning, fresh towels, or returned phone calls. Our group of nine got just one house key, so whenever someone left with it, the rest of us had to wait for them to come back. The washer couldn't be used, the dishwasher was old, and the coffee maker was broken. There was no swimming pool. We got some shampoo and a tiny soap, which were gone after two days, and just one roll of toilet paper. We called management to ask for more supplies, but never got toilet paper, towels, or anything else. The villa was far from the center of Amalfi coast, so we needed a taxi every time. Getting one was very hard, especially from the villa. Returning from Amalfi center was easier, but still not easy. There's a bus line, but nobody seemed to know its schedule. Driving in Amalfi? Good luck, LOL. The only good thing I can say is the AC worked.

The views are lovely, but you can get the same scenery from other houses nearby without spending so much. We paid around 2700 euros and basically got a bed. There was no pool, despite the pictures showing one, and no staff on site or daily cleaning and service, even though we were charged for services. They hadn't provided shampoo, soap, dishwashing liquid, tissues, or other basics. The old washing machine was dirty and unusable. The yard door needs a key from either side, so if you shut it while your friend with the key is outside, you're stuck waiting. This isn't a real hotel or a nice place to stay. Look elsewhere and save your time and money.

The rooms are beautiful and the views are great, but getting here was difficult, especially by bus. The buses were packed and there was barely room for our suitcases. There was no staff at the property and no soap in the room. We also got locked out because they hadn't given us a key for the inner stairway. It took 45 minutes for someone to come let us in, and they offered neither an apology nor any compensation. I'd stay again if I had a rental car.
