The place itself is very nice and the surroundings are quiet, but I found the management poor and the whole experience disappointing. Mrs. Irene, the owner or whoever she is, never showed up. We only spoke briefly on the phone, and she didn’t offer a tip about what to visit or even a simple handshake, despite my paying for a service. I found her really rude and don’t recommend staying there. She doesn’t seem to understand hospitality, politeness, or how to deal with tourists. Breakfast is another issue: you pay for it, but it isn’t included. There were only snacks, packaged biscuits, and toast, all a month old or possibly older. The kitchen photo shows exactly what you get, since nobody uses it, so you’re left to make do with breakfast. The rooms were acceptable for cleanliness, but the bathrooms were in disrepair. The shower head, for example, wouldn’t stay in place and kept falling off. It was quiet, but there was nobody at the B&B and no one came by, which left us feeling isolated. Payment was by bank transfer because the lady didn’t come to collect the money either. Have a good holiday, I suppose. I forgot to mention that after she read my review, she contacted me privately and threatened me in a very forceful tone, saying it wouldn’t end like that. Be careful what you write. An experience to forget!

Irene gave us a fantastic welcome, starting with directions to the property that included a video. The place is beautiful, clean, and well cared for, with excellent service, a spacious room, and a breathtaking view. We only stayed one night and barely had time to see Amantea, but we may come back. Our stay was impeccable, with one small suggestion: a curtain over the little window above the door to the hallway would help. Other guests walked through the shared areas at night and switched on the light, which came through the window and lit up the whole room.

That veranda is something else, and the views across one of the loveliest parts of our beloved Calabria are breathtaking. The rooms are light and airy, with all the comforts and plenty of peace and quiet. The owners are so warm and kind, you feel at home straight away. This is our second visit, and we’ll be back again. Four more days to go... highly recommended!

We were lucky to spend several days in such a comfortable, lovely place this year. The room was roomy and opened onto a terrace with a beautiful sunset view. The old building has been renovated with care, and you can see the attention to detail throughout. There’s Wi-Fi, and one card gets you into the property and your room and switches on the electricity, which helps save energy. The host was thoughtful and helpful. She gave us clear directions to the parking above the B&B and checked on any breakfast needs. Our room was ready in the morning so we could leave our bags, even though check-in was later. The road up is very steep and narrow, and one-way. After unloading the car, it’s easier to park along the main road. There was a sweet packaged breakfast with yogurt, juice, water, milk, and coffee available all the time, plus cakes the host had baked. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day and the towels changed, which you don’t often get at a B&B. The cleaner who welcomed us was friendly too. In the kitchen, each room has counter space in the fridge to keep things cool. There’s also an outside bathroom with a washing machine. The ensuite had a hairdryer, and when we asked for a drying rack for our swimsuits and a beach umbrella, they brought them.
