Il Sogno di Calipso

The only real advantages were the spot near the beach and the locked, secure parking. Everything else made this our worst stay in Italy. We paid €95 a night in cash, and even the nearby ATM wasn't working. The room felt neglected, with worn furniture, mold you could see, no soundproofing, and old gray towels. Looking out the window meant looking straight at a large sewage tank. It was also unbearably hot. When we went out one evening and left the air conditioning on, the host came into our room without permission and turned it off. That felt like a shocking breach of privacy. The host was an older man who spoke no English and was rude throughout. He made us feel as if our being there was a nuisance, then sat in the hall watching us in a way that made us uncomfortable. Early in the morning, noise from the kitchen on the other side of our wall woke us. Breakfast was poor. A young man serving it at least tried to be polite, but that didn't undo the rest of the experience. It was a horrible stay. The host's behavior felt more like something you'd expect in a prison than a bed and breakfast. I wouldn't recommend this place.
