La Casina Di Sonia

Mrs. Sonia was warm, kind, and ready to answer questions by phone. The house details are all listed on Booking.com, so I don't understand claims that things weren't specified. It's compact but has what you need for a work trip or another stay, and it's clean, organized, and smells fresh. It's easy to reach on foot or by public transport, and especially handy for exams at the Italian Navy selection center in Ancona. I'd definitely book it again.

The heating couldn't be turned on for reasons we weren't given, and there were no extra blankets if you needed one at night. Cleanliness was acceptable, though not great, and the price-quality ratio didn't make up for even half of what we paid. I'm writing for my parents, who stayed here. We hadn't expected to share the house with strangers because only about a third of the sites advertising Sonia's house say in small print that it's a guesthouse. With a house that size, sharing with people you don't know wasn't ideal. One morning, while nobody was home, the owner came in without telling all the residents she was coming, to deliver something to the other tenant. I feel she should have notified everyone and arranged a time that worked for them. She said she only rents out the room and can use the shared areas whenever she wants, but I felt our privacy was breached.

For the price of a regular B&B, we ended up sharing the same room with another guest, and nobody had warned us. The floor was dirty, and there was hair all over the bed and bathroom. Really poor.

The apartment was very clean and tidy, and the neighborhood was quiet. Having a car makes it a good base for getting around the city. It's on the second floor with stairs, though, so it won't work for someone with mobility issues.
