Our most enjoyable holiday meal may have been at their restaurant, La Cantina. We stayed at Palazzo Mellacqu during a walking holiday, and Sonja and Emiliano welcomed us warmly with fresh fruit juice and chilled water. The palazzo's interior and exterior spaces are generous, gorgeous, and uniquely designed, and the beds were very comfortable. Near Castro, with its marvellous museum, it makes a great base for exploring Puglia.

The village where palazzo mellacqu is located is very peaceful and quiet, yet very close to the sea. The family owners are fantastic, and the breakfast is very good. The rooms are very large and exceptionally clean. You can also have dinner in the wonderful internal courtyard, but you need to book in the morning and follow Sonia's suggestions. It's the best place to stay in the Salento area if you want to relax and enjoy the architecture of a palace built in the late 1700s and completely renovated.

Sonia gave us such a warm, wonderful welcome. The room had lots of character and was spotless and comfortable. It's in a great spot in a small, quiet town. Definitely eat at the Cantina restaurant.

We stumbled on this B&B and were so glad we did. It’s a beautiful property, and the rooms are roomy and tastefully furnished. Sonia and her husband made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was delicious and varied, served outside, and the value for money was excellent. The town is also well placed for reaching many of Puglia’s attractions, and their dinner recommendations were spot on. Highly recommend it!
