Locanda La Casetta

The staff were exceptionally nice, and the location was wonderful and quiet.

I went through a booking portal where I had a fixed price, then called the property directly to ask what they would charge. They quoted about €40 less, so I booked by phone and repeated the portal price several times. At payment, the lady said that amount was per night, not for the whole stay. I wound up paying €240 in cash instead of the €150 listed on the portal. The room also had no spare blanket or adequate radiators, and the yogurt at breakfast tasted off. The place is far from the city's attractions, and the lack of professionalism was obvious. €120 a night in Capronno is bordering on insane. Look elsewhere, or get the price agreed in writing.

We spent New Year's Eve here and found it a very nice place. Parking is the one drawback, since there isn't much available.

The adjacent osteria is owned by the inn manager, and the dishes all looked tempting. I had a delicious tagliata with an excellent glass of Morellino di Scansano, and breakfast was served with real care. The room was beautiful, spacious, clean, comfortable, and well looked after, as was the bathroom. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. There are only two parking spaces, though you can find more in the nearby square. Since there’s no reception, let them know your estimated arrival time in advance so someone can meet you. They have several phone numbers posted if no one is there. I recommend it.
