Il Casone - Valle dell'Aniene

A great place to stay while taking the intensive Italian course “Follow your passions” with Tina Due. The teacher was excellent, and the food was both healthy and delicious. It was a relaxing spot to study a beautiful language and unwind in nature.

A lovely place for getting friends together. The house is beautiful, furnished simply but with imagination. Enchanting!

The view is lovely, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here otherwise. The building is old and dirty, and there were bedbugs everywhere. The rooms have no comforts, and the bathroom is shared between several rooms. It might work for school camps with children, but definitely not for families.

For a quiet holiday outdoors, this spot is just right. Nearby are small towns including Roviano, Cervara di Roma, Marano Equo, and Anticoli Corrado, known as the painters' village. The Aniene Valley views are excellent, and there are lots of trails you can reach on foot or easily by car. I'd visit the springs, some still and some slightly sparkling. For example, there’s the Sossanti spring in Anticoli Corrado, and in Marano Equo you can find a map showing all the springs spread around this almost magical place. Monte Livata, at 1,500 m, is also worth a visit, with different kinds of homemade pasta to try, like Strozzapreti. At the "Anello" sports park, there’s archery for children aged 4 and up, mountain biking, tennis, five-a-side football, horseback riding, and more. If you have more energy, you can wander freely through the nearby woods, with grazing horses and cows along the way. The views are breathtaking and romantic. Winter is even better: at this altitude, you can use the ski facilities in the Campo dell'Osso area, just above Monte Livata, reached easily by continuing along the road.
