Resort Serenusa Village

There are lots of options for children, and the seafood and Italian food was tasty and good quality. Breakfast was good, though not fabulous. We enjoyed our stay and felt it was a four-star experience. Keep in mind that most activities are in Italian, so some shows may be hard to fully enjoy if you don't speak the language. The resort is remote, and getting to or from the airport takes about an hour and a half by transport. Rooms are basic but clean. When housekeeping cleaned ours, they didn't leave fresh bottles of water, while the tap water tasted very bad. Good drinking water was available at the resort, but getting it to the room was difficult.

The food was a major letdown: bland, overly salty, repetitive, and nothing seemed fresh or well prepared. We were also charged for water and other basic drinks despite the resort being presented as all-inclusive, which felt misleading and unacceptable. Communication was frustrating because many staff members were unfriendly and spoke only Italian. Most seriously, a staff member filmed us after we clearly said no. We emailed Serenusa Resort asking for an explanation and for the footage to be deleted, but got no reply. This was a very disappointing stay, and we wouldn't recommend Serenusa Resort. There are better options in Sicily where guests are treated with respect.

Gianluca made a huge difference to our holiday. He was friendly and attentive at meals, then helped our family of four sort out an itinerary and travel arrangements for the rest of our time in Sicily. His knowledge and genuine kindness meant a lot to us. Serenusa Resort also had fantastic facilities, a great location, and a lovely atmosphere. We're grateful for Gianluca's care, and would highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Sicily.

Alessia, our waitress, was wonderful and always smiling. The hotel service was excellent, and the setting was fantastic. We loved the wide, comfortable beach and the beautiful sea.
