Antico Podere San Luca

Anna was friendly and hospitable, and arranged everything for our early arrival. We had a baby, so travel made our schedule a bit challenging. We stayed five days at Antico Podere San Luca, a lovely little estate just a few minutes from famous San Luca in Bologna. It made a great base for exploring the city and surrounding area. The countryside setting was beautiful and very quiet, and there was plenty of parking around the house. Our first-floor apartment was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The only negative was that getting out onto the road is tricky, though there’s hardly any traffic. Five out of five.

The apartment was very comfortable and just the right size for two people and a baby. It was peaceful and quiet, had all the amenities we needed for a holiday, and was nicely decorated. I would have liked one more shelf in the bathroom for bits and bobs, but all in all, it was a great place to stay.

I stayed three nights at Anna's Place with my boyfriend and really liked the warm welcome, lovely apartment, and sunny garden. The villa is on the quiet, peaceful hill of Colle della Guarda. One of the region's most important monasteries, the Sanctuary of the Virgin of St. Luca, is a 10-minute walk away, and the old town and historic center are about a 30-minute drive. Parking ranges from €1.50 an hour outside the inner circle to as much as €2.40 an hour in the city center.

The room was clean, and the location is lovely, with great views over the hills and nature all around. But the house is very, very noisy because the walls are so thin that you can hear everything from the other guests. We came to relax and enjoy the quiet, but ended up hearing our neighbors all evening until they went to bed. It’s a shame, since everything else is so nice, and the noise is something they should address.
