Albergo Serena

That view from the hotel is stunning, a lovely extra on top of everything else. We were on a road trip and urgently needed a bed, so we booked at 10 pm. Check-in worked fine over a phone call. The staff were really nice, parking was easy, and the very clean room had everything we needed. Breakfast had more than we could have asked for: eggs, bread, meat, cheese, cakes, good coffee, and fresh waffles. Great value for the price.

Parking was a bit tricky. There weren't many spaces, and turning around on the gravel slope was challenging. Still, I really liked this hotel. It has a lot of character, with chairs outside and in the garden for breakfast. Our room looked across the valley toward the water in the distance. The shower got very hot and had great pressure.

We stopped here during a motorbike trip and loved it. Our triple room had a nice view, a small kitchen, and a roomy bathroom. It was very clean, and there were spare sheets in case we got cold. The staff were super friendly and gave us a list of nearby things to do, plus restaurant and bar recommendations. Breakfast was excellent, with a good mix of sweet and savory choices. I especially loved the waffles. Private parking was really useful for us. I'd recommend staying here!

You'll want a car here, since you can't really walk to places from the hotel. But with transport sorted, the value is hard to beat: I found the best price for the quality around La Spezia, with a room and balcony looking out at the lovely hills for 53 euro. Breakfast included a full range of dishes, and parking was available. Lerici and the 5 terre beaches are just a few minutes away. I couldn't say for sure whether it deserves a three-star rating, but I'd recommend it.
