Aretino Hotel

The room was clean and comfortable, with a good bed, air conditioning, and a refrigerator. Breakfast was quite decent, with boiled eggs, toast, spreads, cold cuts, yogurt, granola, corn flakes, fruit, sparkling water, good espresso, and lattes. The place doesn't have much charm, but it's simple, clean, reasonably priced, and the staff are kind. I was very satisfied with my stay.

The room was clean and comfortable, with its own air conditioner, a large shower, and a hair dryer. The breakfast buffet was very good at €6/day, with ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs, breads and a grill, jams, homemade cakes, yogurt, granola, cornflakes, fruit, coffee, and juice. The hotel is in central Arezzo, in a quiet pedestrian area close to the train station and plenty of fabulous places to eat. The staff are helpful and speak many languages. Thoroughly recommend.

The location is great, just a few blocks from the train and bus station, and the staff I met were helpful and friendly, though only to an extent. The beds are comfortable, but housekeeping comes daily from 9am, seven days a week, and there are no do not disturb signs or option to hang one. The bathroom is large, but mold covered about a quarter of the ceiling. The shower drains very slowly, so the floor floods and water gets under the flooring laid over the old tile. The AC started by blowing cold air, then only warm air, and opening the window brought air movement without cooling the room. During our stay, the elevator was out for all of one day and half of the next. This hotel has a lot of potential, but the owners need to invest in repairs or upgrades to reach a 3 star standard. At best, it's a 2 star hotel.

I barely slept because there was no air conditioning, and the staff couldn't help. They gave me a full refund, but didn't apologize. I wouldn't recommend it.
