B&B il Castelluccio

The room was clean, and being near Arezzo's center with a parking space available was handy. The rest was disappointing. Although Castelluccio is described as a B&B on its website and street signs, it doesn't provide breakfast. There's an espresso machine with a counted daily supply and some complimentary biscuits, but not even a bottle of water in the fridge. The room seems to have been a business before. Its entrance looks like the neighboring shop doors and opens straight onto the street. The glass lets you look out without being seen, but during the day there's no blackout curtain, so you hear what's happening outside, including a girl putting on makeup in front of the entrance. At night, you can close the blackout curtain and sit in what feels like a niche. There are no other windows beyond that door, just a high transom above it. Sound carries so badly that even the TV is set very low, almost too quiet to hear.

The owner was helpful and kind. The rooms are roomy, with an unusual layout, and guests have parking. It's a very nice B&B, ideally placed close to the center.

The room felt like a long train carriage, and there were no windows. Its street entrance had been made from a large window, covered by a panel on the outside and a curtain inside at night. I wasn't keen on it.

I had to cancel my booking because of a problem, but the owner worked with me to find an arrangement that suited us both. It's not easy to come across someone so honest and fair. Thank you for being that way. That's why I'm giving the property five stars.
