La Torre di Borgunto - Piazza Grande

Check-in help and access to the apartment were excellent, and otherwise the stay was as expected. We stayed in L'Eleganza, a bright, well-designed place with two bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. The mezzanine bedroom has a glass window overlooking the entrance level, with blackout curtains for privacy, which is a very original touch. There were some real problems, though. The mezzanine bathroom has no bidet and a half-bathtub that isn't really suitable for showering. In the other bedroom's lovely bathroom, the shower drain was blocked and water flooded the whole room. We reported it promptly to the property manager, but no one came during our stay. The cookware was in terrible condition and not properly cleaned, and some pieces weren't suitable for the induction hob, so we couldn't use it to make any of our meals. Those details are why I give the service two stars.

Our host was friendly and available before we arrived, and the apartment was immaculately clean. It’s a bright, well-equipped place, with skylights and large windows, free Wi-Fi, and a TV in every room. The bathroom has a spacious shower, and the kitchen includes a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, full set of kitchen equipment, air conditioning, espresso machine with capsules, kettle and herbal teas. We were three people, staying on the top floor of a historic building in the heart of the old town, just 20 meters from Piazza Grande. Stone walls and two staircases lead up to the apartment, which also has a panoramic terrace over the rooftops of Arezzo. It was convenient for exploring the city, and we’ll definitely stay here again when we return to Arezzo.

The cleaning was a disaster. There was hair and fur in the closet, and the mattress and pillows had no covers. The fitted sheet was directly against the uncovered mattress. We found only one roll of toilet paper and it had already been used. There were no cups for latte or chamomile tea either.

Just 10 steps from Piazza Grande, the location is fantastic. The apartment is gorgeous, elegant, and equipped with every comfort, with meticulous attention to detail. The floors could have been cleaner, but otherwise it was a fantastic stay.
