Solone Beach Resort

It was fine.

The beach is 350 meters away, an easy walk, and the private stretch had an umbrella and matching sun loungers assigned to each room. They all looked brand-new. There were restrooms about 20 meters away, but no bar service because there weren't any concessions. We had a great time, and I expect the property will add more services and entertainment in the years ahead. We stayed August 24th to 31st for a week. Our quadruple room had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, air conditioning in each room, and balconies facing the pool. Everything was spotless thanks to Mrs. Nella and her staff. The rooms felt fresh and welcoming, with new furniture, though a little more furniture might have been nice 🤣. There were two pools, one for children and one for adults, with new loungers and umbrellas along the edge. The brick kiosk served as a bar, and there was a large room with a big screen. The entertainment was impeccable for kids and families. The welcome was warm. Mary and Carmen at reception were friendly, courteous, and efficient. They explained the rules thoroughly and were always available for little problems or requests. Manager Mr. Raffaele and the owner were cordial, kind, and professional, and willing to go the extra mile. I'm sure they'll carry out their plans to delight guests further. Compliments as well to the maître d' and the whole team for prompt, impeccable service. The buffet offered a wide choice of fresh, high-quality food, all beautifully cooked.

The location is beautiful, but the management let the resort down badly. I wouldn't recommend it based on my stay. The restaurant was poor: fish fingers and tomato soufflés weren't acceptable, and it seemed leftovers from one day came back the next in a different form. There was no lifeguard at the pool. When one was there, he left to work as a bartender. The resort was full, yet they held a private birthday party without telling us and took over shared guest space. We raised the issue, but they ignored us and carried on. The entertainment staff were very young but excellent. The cleaning ladies were excellent too, and the night caretaker, Mr. Giovanni, was wonderful. Still, in my opinion, management can't run this place properly. I wouldn't recommend it even to my worst enemy.

The food was plentiful and good quality, and housekeeping and catering did a good job. The entertainment staff were friendly and especially helpful with the children in their activities. The sea is within a 10-minute walk, but the beach had no bar service or restrooms. I booked through iperviaggi, and the room was supposed to include a kitchenette. I asked more than once for confirmation while booking, but there wasn't one. I have a small child who still nurses at night. The room itself had enough space for two adults and two children and a nice terrace, but it was on the second floor with no elevator, which was awkward with our girls aged 2 and 4. Renovations were also going on in some rooms, and half-dismantled furniture had been left on the landings. I think the property can work well for families with young children, though the lack of beach facilities and the many upper-floor rooms without an elevator could be difficult when you're carrying strollers or similar.
